Glengennet, a former shooting lodge, was built during the 1890’s in the upper Stinchar valley near the conservation village of Barr.
Built of whinstone, the house retains many original features and provides an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday in south west Scotland.
Now a 500 acre farm rearing Scottish blackface sheep, Glengennet is set in an elevated position with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
We have 2 guest bedrooms which are spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated, including easy chairs, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities.
- 1 twin with ensuite bathroom (bath, shower & WC)
- 1 double with ensuite shower & WC
The lounge/dining room (with TV for guests’ use) has glorious views over the garden.
Leaflets, guide books and maps are available to help you plan your day.
There’s much to see and do in this area as you can read on our sightseeing page
Breakfast is served with a choice of menu including home made preserves.
Packed lunches and sandwiches are available on request
Please note that we do not offer dinner. However, the hotel in Barr village (1.5 miles away) provides good food at reasonable prices.
